Youth Environmental Education Project

Youth Environmental Education Project

Program Highlights

We deliver hands-on environmental education to K–12 students across the Washington, DC Metro Region, helping young learners connect with nature through interactive, real-world experiences. By combining outdoor activities and engaging science lessons, we empower students to care for the environment as they grow.

Curiosity & Nature Connection

Our programs spark curiosity about the natural world right outside students’ doors, helping them see their local environment as something worth understanding and protecting.

Hands-On Environmental Education

Students learn by doing—through tree planting, outdoor exploration, and simple science activities that make environmental concepts tangible and memorable.

Youth Environmental Stewardship

By building knowledge and confidence early, we equip students with the tools and mindset to become lifelong caretakers of the environment and their communities.

We plant native trees—our Peace Trees—all around the Washington, DC Metro Region, helping bring a little more nature back into the places we live. Each tree feels like a small act of healing: it cleans the air, gives birds and pollinators a home, and makes our streets a bit calmer and more welcoming.

We work with neighbors, volunteers, and local groups to get these trees in the ground and to care for them as they grow. It’s our way of building a greener, kinder community, one Peace Tree at a time.
